Claire was an Independent councillor at all levels of local government for 12 years in the Ottery St Mary area, standing down from Devon County Council in 2021. She also stood as an Independent candidate for the East Devon constituency in the 2015/17 and 19 general elections, closing the gap on the Conservative majority, with almost 26,000 votes in 2019. Claire is now a writer, campaign trainer and occasional broadcaster. She remains fascinated with politics!
