Dr Richard Lawson is a retired GP/Psychiatrist, and a non-retired activist for green politics. He was one of the first Green elected District Councillors, and is a past National Speaker for the Green Party. He is author of Bills of Health, a study in preventive health (conclusion: one fifth of the NHS budget is spent trying to cure illness caused by unemployment, poverty, bad housing, and pollution), is an inventor, poet, blogger and flute player. He lives with his wife on the edge of a wood in Somerset.
